Packing Services
At Christian Brothers Moving & Storage, our staff can make your move care-free with expert packing services. We use materials designed specifically for moving and our trained personnel can safely and efficiently pack all your possessions.
If you do choose to pack for yourself, we will gladly deliver any moving materials that you may require.
Packing Tips for Residential Customers
The following tips will ensure your belongings arrive in good condition:
- Pack cartons snugly:- Use unprinted newspaper
to fill in the empty spaces. Fill cartons to the top.
When stacked, half filled cartons tend to get
crushed. Wrap items that could be scratched. - Stay under fifty pounds per carton and tape
securely. Remember, somebody has to be able to lift
it. If the carton is too heavy, the bottom can fall
out and damage the contents. Don’t use masking
tape. - Point cup handles and pitcher spouts to the
center of the carton. - Pack books and records on end in a small carton. Valued books should be wrapped in paper or tissue first.
- Nest lampshades separately in lightly crushed paper.
- Do not pack flammables, aerosols, bleach, corrosives or plastic squeeze bottles: take them in your car or throw them away.
- Tape shut food boxes and medicines. Avoid packing liquids.
- Mark your packed cartons well.
- Protect mirrors, pictures and glass in flat cartons.
- Prepare a first day carton with snacks, soap, towels, etc.
